The hedgehog is known from Lõngus's work "Kalevipoeg 3.0" that depicts the Estonian national hero Kalevipoeg as a modern cyborg. In the national epic the hedgehog had a very important task to give out orders to the hero. Since the hacker hedgehog had better access to information, it was easy for him to exploit the big and stupid Kalevipoeg and make him dance to his tune.
Ironically, the same fate befell the work of Kalevipoeg 3.0 - the hedgehog became more famous than the modern cyborg version of Kalevipoeg depicted on the walls. While Lõngus's initial version of Kalevipoeg and the hedgehog is in Kääpa, in the immediate vicinity of Kalevipoeg's sword site, the hedgehog alone can be found on the streets of Tartu, Tallinn, as well as Riga, Vilnius, Helsinki, Berlin, Paris, London, Brussels, Rome, Copenhagen, Vienna, Aberdeen and Budapest. What's more - in 2017, the hacker hedgehog was chosen as the best street art piece in Helsinki. About the artwork in the media: - Uus teos Vabadussilla galeriis - Fotod: tänavakunstiklassikut oma teose lapsik täiendus ei morjenda - Edward von Lõnguse “Siil” Hundi teel - Eesti Suursaatkond Londonis
Edward von Lõngusis the most well-known Estonian street artist. The fact that he never reveals his face and, according to him, does not physically exist adds to the artist's character. He is a shared theoretical concept, a reflection of the era of multi-identity in the information field, generated by the vibrations of collective consciousness. Lõngus likes to play with Estonian cultural codes, and his works are loaded with topical, sharp messages.
